What the Heck Is a Ball Peen Hammer

It has a funny name, and it doesn't look like a regular hammer, but it definitely has a purpose! What is a ball peen hammer anyway, and what does it do?
A ball peen hammer has a head with one end that's flat and the other end round...like a ball. It's mainly used by machinists or other metal crafters. The flat end is used to set rivets or drive chisels, and both ends are used to shape metal. 
Here's a Hands On Women tip: I keep a small ball peen hammer in my tool kit. I have a standard 16 ounce claw hammer, but I've found that a small ball peen hammer is great for driving smaller nails and picture hooks! They come in smaller sizes than most claw hammers and, believe it or not, the steel in the head is stronger than most common claw hammers!
